For the third successive year, the Government’s Office for Slovenians Abroad, together with the Minister for Slovenians abroad, Ms. Tina Komel, will sponsor the annual home-coming event- the gathering of all Slovenians under the slogan “WELCOME HOME.”
This year, the emphasis will be on the young – cooperation and linking of various youth organizations active in the Republic of Slovenia with communities of young Slovenians and their descendants, living in neighboring countries and elsewhere in the world. The first issue of the magazine for Slovenians from abroad entitled “Moja Slovenija” is out.
The first issue of the magazine for Slovenians from abroad entitled “Moja Slovenija” is out. The magazine published an interview with the Minister for Slovenians Abroad Ljudmila Novak, who spoke of her work during the one year mandate as a minister. There is also much about her visit to the Slovenian community in the USA, last November 2012.

On 14th November 2012 in Ljubljana the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia Janez Janša and the minister for Slovenians abroad Ljudmila Novak met the Council of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia for Slovenians Abroad which was chaired by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia.

In November 2012, Ljudmila Novak the minister for Slovenians abroad visited the Slovenian community in the USA and in the state of Ohio officialy opened the headquarters of the innovation office of CE PolimaT and the Slovenian-American Business Association in the Akron Global Business Accelerator.

In the middle of December 2012, the Minister for Slovenians abroad, Mrs. Ljudmila Novak and the famous writer Boris Pahor, visited the Czech capital Prague. Pahor held some lectures for the students, while the minister visited the Slovenian community that lives in the Czech Republic.
