Government appoints new state secretary at the Office for Slovenians Abroad

The Government of the Republic of Slovenia adopted at its session on 6 July 2017 a decree on the dismissal of the incumbent and the appointment of a new state secretary at the Government’s Office for Slovenians Abroad. As of 14 July 2017, the office will be held by Aleksandra Pivec, PhD.

Aleksandra Pivec, PhD, began her career as a young researcher at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology of the University of Ljubljana and a professional research assistant at the Scientific Research Centre Bistra Ptuj. She obtained a doctorate in chemical engineering. At the Scientific Research Centre Bistra Ptuj, she was active in the preparation, management and coordination of national and international development, scientific-research and application projects for 17 years and headed the institution as the director for six years. She was active in the designing of development strategies in various fields for various stakeholders in local and regional frameworks; in the preparation and management of science and development projects; and in the drawing up of publications and obtaining of EU funds.
