Minister Ljudmila Novak in Milan attended the round table »Slovenia: the publishing door of Mitteleuropa«

Minister Ljudmila Novak participated at the round table on Wednesday 9th May 2012 at the Biblioteca Ambrosiana historic library in Milan. The event »Slovenia: the publishing door of Mitteleuropa« was organized to promote the project »Maribor - European Capital of Culture 2012«.

 

Minister Novak welcomed the participants and invited them to visit Maribor which is this year the European Capital of Culture. In her speech she stressed how important the culture is for the existence of our nation and exposed the greatness of Slovenian literature. She also reminded about the great role our culture had at the time Slovenian state was creating.  

 

At the round table participated also Mr. Rudi Merljak from the Government's Office for Slovenians Abroad, Mr. Slavko Pregl writer and director of the Slovenian Book Agency and Mr. Zdravko Duša expert program advisor for the project »Maribor - European Capital of Culture 2012«.

Following the official program Minister Novak visited the premises of the great historic library Biblioteca Ambrosiana.
