Seminar for teachers of the Slovenian language from Argentina and Australia

Seminar for teachers of the Slovenian language and other subjects in the Slovenian language at Saturday schools in Argentina and Australia

The Government Office for Slovenians Abroad and the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport will in cooperation with the National Education Institute of the Republic of Slovenia in 2013 also organize and finance a seminar for teachers of the Slovenian language and other subjects in the Slovenian language in Saturday schools in Argentina and Australia. The seminar will take place from 23 January to 01 February 2013. The estimated number of participants is 15 to 20 people.

We would like to inform all Slovenian schools or institutions involved in teaching the Slovenian language and culture as well as the Slovenian immigrant press in South America and Australia about the given possibilities to come and improve their knowledge.

The registration form is available on the website of the Government Office for Slovenians Abroad www.uszs.gov.si, the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Brasilia, Brazil and the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Canberra, Australia.

The candidates must send the completed application form to the Government Office for Slovenians Abroad, Komenskega 11, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia, or in a scanned electronic version (via e-mail) to urad.slovenci(at)gov.si or suzana.martinez(at)gov.si. The information provided in the application must be accurate and complete.

The deadline for applying is 10 September 2012. Preference will be given to those candidates who are applying for the first time and intend to continue teaching. It is expected that after completing the seminar they will be involved and active in teaching the Slovenian language for at least two years after returning home. Furthermore, their active participation in the Slovenian associations is also expected.
